Based on 131 reviewsDEPO KITCHEN MATANG is consistently praised for its inviting, home-like atmosphere that creates a relaxed and casual dining experience. Located in a converted house, the restaurant offers ample seating both indoors and outdoors, along with convenient parking, enhancing overall accessibility and comfort. Reviewers frequently commend the quality and flavor of its signature dishes, particularly various types of nasi kandar and nasi goreng, noting the generous portions and well-balanced spices that cater to those who enjoy bold, spicy flavors. Service is generally described as efficient and friendly, with the added convenience of QR code ordering supporting a seamless dining process. Although some diners acknowledge that the flavors may not be an exact replication of traditional nasi kandar, the offerings are still regarded as satisfying and authentic enough to appeal to fans of the cuisine. Overall, DEPO KITCHEN MATANG stands out for its combination of tasty food, welcoming ambiance, and practical amenities.
Depo Kitchen in Petra Jaya is a unique spot—it’s actually a house where the front has been transformed into a kitchen for their food business. This gives it a relaxed, homey vibe that’s perfect for a casual meal. I tried the Nasi Ayam Butter, which was delicious. My daughter enjoyed the Nasi Goreng Daging, saying it was packed with beef. My second daughter loved her Nasi Goreng Ayam. My sister ordered the Nasi Sotong Butter and thought it was fantastic, and my brother, who recommended this place, went with his favorite, the Nasi Kandar. The prices are quite reasonable. For three adults and four kids, we spent about RM98++. The drinks are served in large glasses and taste great. Overall, Depo Kitchen is a great place for tasty food in a cozy setting. Definitely worth checking out!
firstly the atmosphere of the shop is comfortable. ordered food via QR, and the food is served accordingly. personally the food is very nice. if i were to compare, its my top 10 nasi ayam kandar. that is my honest review. next time i visit i would like to try other menu's. thank for a great experience
If you missed your nasi kandar penang, here is the place for you to go.. not gonna be 100% the same but at least it has the taste that almost resembling it!
NEW UPDATE** I really love this place! One of the highlights is the ample parking, especially since the nearby shops close early, making it convenient to find a spot. There are plenty of tables to dine at, and they’ve even added more outdoor seating, which is a nice touch. For our meal, we ordered two nasi kandar, a jumbo green tea, a red green tea, and a Nutella kunafa. Everything was served in under 15 minutes, which was impressive. The kunafa was absolutely delicious, loaded with cheese and it was so stretchy, as you can see in the video! Overall, it was a very enjoyable dinner, and I would definitely recommend this place. UPDATE* After a few weeks, we visited this place again, but this time it was at night. We ordered the nasi kandar and kunafa, hoping to have another great experience. While the nasi kandar was served quickly, the kunafa turned into a big disappointment. We waited almost an hour, constantly seeing trays of kunafa being taken out of the oven but never receiving ours. Finally, I called one of the staff members to check on it. He looked at our order, went to the kitchen, and then came back to inform us they had run out of kunafa. It was so frustrating, especially since customers who ordered after us were served their kunafa without issue. We essentially wasted an hour waiting for something we ordered along with our nasi kandar but never received.
The food is good especially for those who’s looking spicy food. But beware mmg pedas. We ordered ayam gepuk and ayam penyet. The service is fast. Easy to find parking if you go to depo kitchen gita.
I tried the basic kunafa for the first time at kuching central food fest. It was delicious. Not to sweet but the service was slow due to the crowd. Waited 1 hour I think. Today I decided to go to the shop house itself because grab delivery was expensive. Parking was plenty. The service was very fast. The thai milk bun and bubur berlauk was so delicious. But due to rain, some area of the roof leak but it was still okay. Recommended and will repeat.
Nice food with fast serving , good2 Highly recommended! Worth to try!
From the start, when they were operating from home, I’ve been a regular customer, and now they’ve opened a successful restaurant. Their food never disappoints, and the price is always in line with the portion sizes. The kunafa is one of the cheapest I’ve had. The owner is kind and easily approachable for any complaints or refund inquiries.
